Drew - got the floor back in the Bugeye

Chris - here is a picture from the bottom. These still have some touch up to do, and I haven't really cleaned up the ones under the exhaust pipe yet. The silver zinc primer on there (all I had at the hanger) makes every imperfect really annoyingly visible, you can even see where I scratched the sheet metal on the foot well.

Once I get a bit more time with the belt sander and they are painted black I think it will be hard to tell from under the car that the floors had been replaced unless you are really looking.

OK - didn't get the brake assembly back in but I did strip and clean the brake assembly area. This car sat for quite a while and I don't think was ever washed. I didn't want to put the brake assembly back in over metal that had surface rust (from old master leaking) so I stripped the paint. Some minor pitting but pretty nice to see such clean metal there still. Got phosphoric acid on the stripped area, the rinsed and then two coats of ZeroRust on the area.

Oh, and yeah, she'll be a driver for several years before a full bare metal repaint so ugly (but preserved) is the goal now. Nice excuse for not having her cleaned up yet, eh?

I think I said that in 2008. I'm still driving it and finding excuses not to take it apart to do the bodywork.

That is what I am hoping happens here too Trevor

Kids, wife, new dog and the TR8 all required attention today so I only had 90 minutes or so to work on her.

Will have to wait until next weekend Jack - but it's ready to go back together now that the brake shelf is painted. She did fire right up which was nice to hear.

I do appreciate the inspection guys - will help keep me focused on getting it done. Funny how I'm waiting to drive her but I'll make progress so as not to disappoint/break the "deal" with you guys...
