My wife and I are about to head to Santa Fe to freeze our tushies off! We're going to the inaugural ceremony this morning for the new governor of New Mexico! <span style="font-weight: bold">As of this posting the temp outside is 3 degrees with lots of snow!</span> (global warming of course) and the ceremony is outside! I hope it's a quick ceremony! Later this evening (8PM-midnight) we are attending the inaugural ball. My personal camera is a low-end Canon Rebel (only 6MP and a so-so lens). I rented a much better Canon 7D with a much better zoom lens for this event so hopefully I can get some decent pictures. Now I gotta go dig out those Long Johns!
 
Dude, I wouldn't go out in that kinda weather if they ~made~ me the govenor of New Mexico. Too cold for me.

At least the wind is calm (I hope it stays that way - I don't need a chill factor of -20!)
 
Thermal gutchies, then felt, cotton, then something synthetic...

We only saw 25F but it worked for that.

"You go boss!" I'll watch the festivities on the telly or maybe via some great photos. I'm watching a car trying to come down our hill and he/she is driving in the non-driving part. Apparently it's just a sheet of ice. Be safe!

Returning, car can't make it up the hill. Might have a visitor shortly.
 
He'll be fine. As of this posting the temp there has TRIPPLED to 9 deg F.
 
Sounds like fun (except the cold part)! I went to a VA Guv inauguration a few years back, really inspiring.

Maybe the new guv will pardon Billy the Kid (Richardson didn't)??? :crazyeyes:
 
Bundle up, have fun! happy new year! we're enjoying a "heat wave" here in NY! it's a balmy 41f at 11 am (prediction of 50s today!) I took advantage of the above freezing temps, and installed our new exterior door on the back porch. One more step to heating the porch and making it a year round mud-room.
 
Were sitting here in the Museum of Fine Arts waiting for the new Gov to arrive for the public reception. Right now listening to Hector Pimmentel play guitar (his brother Robert made my Pimmentel 12 string.

Guy is lady. Susana Martinez. First female and Hispanic governor in NM. I seriously doubt that she would even get involved in such nonsense. IMHO

I would have happily swapped the weather we've had the last few days:

As a hard core snowmobiler, I've watched 50+F highs completely wipe out a nice accumulation of snow here in Ontario, grrr...
 
I tell ya Basil, the world is crazy.
Yesterday we had your weather,50F, and you had ours,-7F.
Next thing you know, Doc will be moving back to Penn. to get warm!
