Drat! Anyone have a Speedo!

I was attempting to change the outer can for the 1959 bugeye. One of the studs twisted off the original. I just about had it out and I slipped and dropped the thing on the shop floor!

Anyone have a useable speedo?

I have one for a 1275, it works just fine, but I'm not sure it'll work with a BE gear. If it does, you're welcome to it.

What year is it? can you send me a pic? Silver center with a curved face?

I'll pm you.

Remember that a stock bugeye uses a 4" speedo and a 1275 is USUALLY 3" (except for 1967)

Going to attempt to repair my Speedo. The PO's cable chewed the back of it pretty bad. Replaced the cable and now the thing jumps all over the place. Barry, I may take you up on the speedo if Shealey does not.

How bad was it damaged? Was it just the face or what? You might can make one good one out of two. I have a used 1275 one that still works but the size is different, I know.

Yes, the face is spanked! I have a deal brewing on a replacement speedo right now. Stay tuned..

The 1275 speedo is smaller and doesn't look like the bugeye one. I have a deal in the works for a Bugeye speedo. I may be able to share my good fortune and share the parts left over with you. Stay tuned.

Although the 1275 guts may be the same...?

That will work but that is not Bugeye. Bugeye does not have the tic marks around the outside edge and only has half as many numbers 20, 40, 60, 80, 100,

BTW, the guts from a later (smaller) one can be fitted into the BE speedo and from my experience needed no re-calibration!

The wife told me a package arrived for me today. I think it's the replacement speedo. I'm traveling for the week. But when I get home I will Check and see if I need any parts from my damaged speedo. I may have parts for you Tim.
