The shuttle is down safely, it "announced" its arrival here with a RESOUNDING double-thump sonic bang. Visceral this time. We felt it concussively.

Absolutely amazing. 8,000 MILES AN HOUR to wheels stop in less than 15 minutes, NO power. A hurtlin' house brick with ~some~ control surface.

Doc..the replays on NASA channel have been great...I
duck each time they show the overhead from North end

They went from a side shot RIGHT to that "tail away" and I agree! "WHOA!!" came outta me as they did that live.

Funny how we broadcast all that stuff as it happens. All the other outfits do the deed THEN show it after the fact. We open ourselves to broadcasting even our warts.

Not a sound here. Too cloudy and windy I think - sometimes it shakes the house, even if they come from the southwest.

That we're showin' th' planet OUR stuff as it happens. They keep their stuff "off the record" until it either works or doesn't. THEN we see footage. Hard to edit real time.
