Drain channel top seal

Hello fellow healey-ists, Looks like the more I get into restoring my car, the more I will be asking questions here. British Car Specialist (BCS) lists in their catalog a "Top seal-rear drain channel". I just removed my rear drain channel from my 64 BJ8 and did not have one. Where does this top seal go? How does it get attached? I've noticed in BRS's catalog, that they sell some things that are aftermarket and never came on the car. Is this part one of them? Also, my drain channel is painted black, believe it should be grey?

can't answer the question about the seal to the drain channel, but the channel should be painted grey.
