Double MC piston link

I took apart two double line Master cylinders for the Midget and they both have the same problem. Each piston link has snapped, this allows the front piston to move freely allowing front brake to work but the rear piston is totally disconnected having no real use. I bought the MC repair kit from Moss but it does not come with a piston link. Has any had this problem before? I'm thinking of using a cotter pin in place of the old piston link, what are your thoughts?

I had that problem with a couple of masters.
Yes a cotter pin or suitable home made link will work.
Take very accurate measurements, I do not recall what the measuerment is.
 
I have a diagram of the MC in my shop manual, it shows where the pistons are normally positioned. I’ll use that to help align the pistons so I can take an accurate measurement for a cotter pin replacement.

Thanks for the input, I feel more confident knowing someone else has tried this before.
