Door Window Scrubbers

I'm nearing the end of the restoration of my BJ7 and have run in to a problem. I have installed the window scrubbers on the driver and passenger doors (that's the rubber strip at the top of the door (bottom of the window) that keeps rain from running down the window into the door). However, as I roll down the window, the rubber rolls under itself. Any ideas on how to get these to work?

I finished my BJ7 about 6 months ago. Had the same problem. I used car wax to polish the outer window surface as well as the rubber seal - this reduced the frictional drag but did not completely eliminate it. I put into play my theory that car wax tends to stiffen rubber over time and left the windows up for about a month with the seals in the proper position. The seals took a "set" to the windows and seem a little less flexible so no problem now. I will continue to use (rain ex) and wax the glass if they start to drag & roll again.

I also struggle with this issue. Compared to newer cars, the replacement rubber seems very wide, almost too wide.

Same problem but like Tom I left the windows up for a few mo. and the seals appeared to take a set and not roll under when lowering the window. What else ya gonna du? Kevin
 
Thanks for the info guys, just ordered a new set last night. Now I know what to expect.
 
Could it be that these rubber strips are too firm?

I'd bet that all the vendors get the same product from the same source.

Maybe using silicone or Aerospace 303 would help make it a bit more pliable?

Wish all fixes were this easy, Roger has it, just spray a silicone product and then wind up and down a few times, before wiping off.

You will get a few smears on the glass for a while but it soon stops. Its all about lubrication!
