Door to window seal installation?

I'm having trouble changing the door to window seals, my hands and wrists do not seem to contort enough to hold the clip and push in the rubber seal. Do I have to remove the glass to install these or is there some simple trick to installing them?

I do not recall were I saw this but you need to make an installation tool.
The way I remember this tip is it said to use an old hack saw blade. Grind the teeth off and bring it down to the width of the clip. Next heat up the end with a torch and bend a hook in the blade to match the thickness of the clip, quench it in water. You may have to repeat this several times to get the right bend to hold the clip. Once you are happy with the fit, heat the opposite end to bend a loop handle in it.
To use the tool either use some double back tape or glue in the bend to help hold the clip in place. Insert tool with clip down into the door past the seal, position the clip then pull up on the tool to secure the clip.
I hope this is what you were after.

The tool in question is calles a 'door waist seat tool' and you can find a picture and description on how to make one in the Moss TR3-TR4 cataoge, on the page where the door is shown.

I am having the same problem, with both the inner fuzzy seals which prevent rattles and the outer rubber seal which looks like a big wiper blade and prevents water from getting inside the door.

I have got the tool, but the clip resists opening even when pulled up very hard.
Is there a trick?
Simon.

Here is a pic of the tool... wrap the 'handle' with some tape to protect you and get a grip. Also helps to form the handle into a hook to hook over your clenched fist.

Simon, new clips are tight -- you might try spreading one a bit with the tip of a screwdriver to relax it a bit.

I didn't have the door panel off so I tied a length of dental floss around each clip to be able to retrieve it if (when) it slipped off the tool. Once on I just yanked out the floss.

You guys are too much!! Thanks and mission completed.
