Door Panel

Hi All,

How is the front of the door panel on a BJ8 supposed to be attached to the door, with screws?

My panel has clips on the bottom, top and rear. The PO glued the front of the material around the front edge of the door, wrapping it around about a half inch on the inner front door.

As I look at the door panel, it has 3 small holes in the front section....

Thanks,
Bob

Clips except where the door pull handle mounts. There should be a metal strip that goes along the front edge of the lower "L" shaped panel that wraps around the door edge. It is held to the panel with pop rivets.

There's no clips for the front! It wraps around the front edge of the door. Just install this area first then take care of the clip areas next. easy job! Be sure to line up the two screw holes for the door grab handles after you slide the front edge of the panel into position. It makes short work of trying to re-adjust the clips after you've installed the door panel.

Right you are TH.
The metal strip is U-shaped and runs the length of the front door panel. It is attached to the wood panel then covered over with the vinyl, so you don't see it.

When you're ready to put the door panel on, that area is the first to attach. It is just a holding area, no clips or screws. The panel as you've found out is attached by the two screws holding the door handle and the push clips on the bottom and back of the door panel.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks Everyone!

So it looks like I dont have the metal strip.

Does anyone have any detailed pictures of the metal "u" strip?
I dont see it on the MOSS site?

Thanks again!
Bob

Update...

I called MOSS. They only sell the entire door panel kit. I then called British Car Specialists. They had them! The little boogers cost $17.50 each, but I am happy that they have them. Ordered one strip for each side....

Thanks all!
Bob
