Ok, this may sound like a silly question but, are the door latch screws all the same length? I but in one new one and it ran all the way up and fit perfectly. The next one only wants to run about half way in and then gets real tight. Is that one to long and do I need to put it in my lathe and cut it down a bit? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

They are two different lengths.

Dave

Have you run a tap through the threads? You should always chase the threads with a tap or die. Takes out any rust and little burrs. PJ

Put something in the empty hole & measure it's depth.

Cut a long screw that fits on a bout a quarter inch slant on the end, work in and out, in and out just a quarter of a turn at a time, will clean the treads preaty well.
