The door latches, dovetails, and hood latch look to have been originally zinc plated. Mine in places look pretty rough and I would like to fix them up this winter. How have any of you out there refurbished these items?

I had mine done at a shop in CT that does annodizing for a company that I work for. They did a really nice job, but if they are damaged, it won't hide anything. I was lucky, mine weren't so they came out fine.

If the "rough" look that you talk about is simply the old finish coming off, you may be fine. Any good shop can tell you what to expect before they begin.
