The feeling of contentment after a good day in the garage?

Got lots of those little chores topped off today:
1. Fixed the speedo. Now I can tell how far I've gone and how fast I'm going. (25 miles today)
2. Repaired/ repainted and mounted the original ashtray
3. Mounted the luggage rack the boys got me for my birthday
4. Finished up the final check of hoses, lines, etc. from the install
5. Glued down the carpet pieces that didn't adhere completely the first time.
6. Bathed and vacumed....

Drove him to be sure he was still happy.
Now, crashed on the couch, cold beer beside me waiting for the start of the Florida game..feeling satisfied.

Good job indeed!
What did you do to the speedo?

Pulled it from the transmission, put it on a drill and spun it around. The speedo went up to 80 mph so I figured the gauge and speedo cable were fine. Figured out how to get the part that goes in to transmission out (flat screw driver-popped it out) The plastic wheel was a mangled mess (Now I know its called a pinion wheel or pinion speedo wheel) Bought a new one, re-installed works beautifully.

Don't you just love it when things work and go smoothly. I think Iggy is starting to enjoy being driven and realizes all those years in the garage were not nearly as fun as getting out and driving! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif
