while cleaning the bottom of my Bugeye restoration I noticed a very neat indentation in the pinchweld at the rear of the floor(left side). I started to fix it, but is it possible it's there for exhaust pipe clearance?
 
Not sure where you mean exactly, but more likely an indentation cause by your exhaust system or someone else's deliberate action.
