I have a different sort of British car - a ..mumbles.. Triumph ..mumbles..

Forgive me if this has been done to death - is the '04 ZT Wagon that wirewheel is selling really legal for the US? It's got Florida plates on it, so it would imply that it is...

I really don't want it, for that sort of $ I'd get a Cooper and another TR8, but I was just curious and figured this was as good a place as any to find out since I'm sure ~someone~ has asked by now...

You really ARE bored, ain't ya! :smirk:

Yup. I'm waiting for parts from TRF (what a surprise). Until they arrive the 6 is u/s. I took the 8 out for a drive before and nearly boiled (me not it).

Hiding out in the shack with the a/c blasting right now and wondering if the compressor downstairs can handle another vent - in the garage

I just came back from a drive in the '67 GT & am lost about your initial positng....what ZT wagon?

Anything on wirewheel.com is over priced! I don't need to go there....

It wasn't the price. It was the fact that there was one at all.
Never mind, I was just curious.

Its been around for sale for awhile...first it was in Michigan for sale & then in Florida a few months ago for $17,000....before that itv was on ebay...its only a ZT body....somebody put a Ford drivetrain in it.

wow - 17k to 30k.
i wish my cars went up in value that quickly...

Yeah, but it hasn't sold in the year or so its been on tha meaket through ebay, in Michigan, in Florida, & now wirewheel!

Alan's talking about ~THIS ONE~

With the Ford motor, maybe they got an emissions exemption?
Truthfully, since they're a big dealer, they have a lot to lose if it wasn't legal. But it seems funny to me too.

And an MG with an American V8? I know some of the guys here like this sort of stuff, but personally, no thanks.

When it was in Michigan, I called about it...apparently, it was used as a press vehicle & then afterwards somebody changed the engine....price was around $19,000 then & I was interested until I learned about the engine change...then it moved to Florida & price was $17,000...now its there....just keeps moving around but still has original owner & Michigan title.

Hmm, I already have a Cougar with the same engine. Not sure that I would pay that kind of money just for the sheetmetal.
