just finished supper and tenant calls (we have an apartment over the garage) toilet works, bathroom sink works, no cold water in the kitchen or shower. Dang.

Managed to get the access panel off in the garage and got a small heater up there, just had a text that the last of the water was flowing. and nothing burst! (thank goodness)

I know what you mean, JP. Sure has been a cold winter here in old Virginia. Seems my furnace has been running constantly for a couple of months.

I am definitely ready for springtime . . . :yesnod:

Good catch, JP.

and today, today is a balmy 1 deg. C (33F) snow is melting on the driveway and even saw some sun peeking out. Please spring come soon...

I was living a few blocks inland of Buckroe Beach pier in the early '70's, had an ice storm that COVERED the cars. Someplace we have a photo of two halves of my MGB made of ice. Broke it up across the center-line and slid 'em off each end of the car. Trees were broken and stripped of branches, 'phone and power lines were either drooped to the ground or severed. Streets were coated in black ice, folks were NOT skilled at navigating on that. All very nasty!

Yup.

Weather related bullet arrived in DC tonight. Currently shoveling out to attempt the trip home. Hopefully the .gov workers and other amatures have cleared the roadways by now... At least 6 inches since this afternoon.

Gonna be almost 70 deg here tomorrow.

Yeah, yeah, I hear ya. I can't wait for it to be 70 again. The commute last night was simply amazing. It took me around 1 and 1/2 hors, usually a half hour trip. Cars, semis, buses.... all over the place. It was like it had never snowed before. According to the news some folks were more than 12 HOURS on their trip. I had to detour a couple of times to get around the idiots, but it seems that most people don't think about alternative routes, so they just sit there.... waiting for what I don't know. All I can say is I LOVE MY AUDI!!!! Nights like last night are why I keep this car.

A pal up in Maine got one new, drove it for years. His son then drove it thru his High school years. It sat a few then was dragged out again, for competing in ICE races by the son. He did astonishingly well at it. They're little "snow goats"!

Jesse , not bad. Took my bro in law 5 hours to go from Bethesda to Poolesville

Shoulda moved to "Suit-land"!

Im done with winter. Another 14" fell last night and the bottom 2" are solid ice. I clear it away and it grows back. Ive got engines to move and parts to load up and I'm stuck. More on the way too. Argh!

Thing is, I REFUSE to be stopped by the collection of idjits on the road here. I usually take the highway to commute either way. But last night I looked at the online traffic cameras, and listened to the traffic reports, and decided on an "alternative route". Since I know the Audi will go, I have some flexibility. I didn't even have to lock the diffs..... I used to take my BGT out in the snow just for grins. (It was a GREAT snow car)I had to take a couple of mile detour to get around a stuck snow plow that clogged up the way I had planned... Car of choice abandoned on the side of the road?? Benz, (big and new mostly), and BMW (all flavours).

We've moosed thru snow most didn't even TRY while in an MGB.

NO FEAR!

And we got the feared power outage. Off Wed night about midnight and back on about 4pm yesterday. The 8-10 inches of heavy, wet really tied things up. Hundreds of cars abandoned along the commuter routes, cars running out of gas, and mostly dumb drivers acting like it had never snowed here before. AGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH
