Hi Folks-
Since I had the camera at home on Sunday I walked around and took a few snaps---

Truly I'm not a hoarder..... or maybe I am. My plan is to have plenty to do upon my retirement. Not much on fishing or golf and though I do have a rocking chair on the front porch that would wear thin quick! I just buy cool old stuff when I find it reasonably priced. The bikes are all stashed around in the chicken house, grain bin and garage. Might get around and photograph them next time I take the camera home.
Enjoy.

Apparently, the secret to eternal life is to not have a camera at home; who knew!

Given that it took me twenty (>20) years to restore one (1) Healey, I couldn't possibly live long enough to restore all those cars! I would however, try really hard to get the S1 E-Type running/driving before I kicked the bucket

I'll be glad to lighten your burden a bit by taking that dirty, old, finicky XKE coupe off of your hands.

I guess this kind of thing is a universal sickness - but I'm certainly no hoarder either! I only collect good crap.

Thanks guys- I've always had a soft spot (in my head?) for British iron. Lots of Triumph, Norton and BSA motorbikes. (Still have a few) Had a Jensen Healey and a couple of XJS's as well. One was an Arden convertible conversion with all of the good German mods. The Jags came when I finished a long restoration of an Eastlake Victorian that a nice couple wanted more than I did. Moved to a Craftsman bungalow with acreage and some of the excess funds went to acquiring the XKE's. Dream car is really an Aston Martin but one must live in the real world....I guess. My goal is to get enough cars under my belt to gain experience enough to do the Jags well. Kind of like on the job training!
I don't call what I do "restoration". I've done a couple on some Nortons while I was into the bike show thing and I decided that chasing after those last 10 points was not for me. A nice, safe presentable driver is just right. After all, I live on a dirt road in the middle of God's brown nowhere and I like to drive cars, not trailer them. Everybody's different.
The BJ8 found me.. I've always dug them and thought I should have one. Who knows, maybe a TR3, MGA and a Sunbeam will come along. 'Till them I have plenty of Chevys to hammer on in the mean time. It's cool to revive something that to most people is best parted on e-bay or sent to the crusher. Guys got to stay busy and there's precious little on tv so why sit in front of it? Thanks again for the input and for all the help and advise that you all have offered on here!

Regards,

Do I see at least 3 e-types? I am about a half a day away up on Nebraska should you decide you have one too many (seriously). My brother picked up a 63 I passed on a couple years ago. He has similar plans to yours, I can put you in touch if you want to compare notes. Good luck, I want to do the same thing hope I can still get up and down and in and out to enjoy it in a few years!

Hi Greg-
Yep, there's 3 of them. What I can see it's going to take all 3 to make one good coupe and one good roadster. (Maybe even a tub for that one- it's one rusty pig!) Building a coupe will give me the intimate knowledge of the platform so I can know better on the really hard one. These cars were bought pretty right when I had a windfall from the house sale/swap. I figured they weren't ever going down too much so I might as well have them for when I hit that retirement and I can give them the attention they need once I shed this 70 hour/ week job! Gainful employment- what a dreary concept! In the mean time I will hone my skills in my spare time and wait on the day!
Thanks

Hi Jerry-
You mean the one in the new shed closest to the camera? If so, no. I would really like an Interceptor but it's a '67 Camaro convertible. 327-4speed car. Base trim. Bought it by accident when I mouthed off and had to back it up!

Mike, best of luck with the projects, looks like my idea of fun, or as my mother in law would say, happier than a goat in a garbage dump....

Thanks Greg- It is certainly a highlight for me. With everything I have going on it's how I keep my zen!
