Hi folks,
I am a Healey owner. Back in the mid-2000s a friend had this component on his car. I am trying to identify it and locate one. Fifteen years ago he said that it was a Triumph part - he thought a TR6? Does anyone recognize it?

Thank you!

Lin

It is not TR 6. TR6 has direct link from gas peddle to carbs no cable. Also TR 4's have rods from peddle. MG B have cable but no bell crank like that. I also talked to some club members as to LH/RH SU's No clue .

I think I may have located the source for the part in question. Take a look at this image from Victoria British. Looks like the same cast cam on an HIF44 carb. Used on MGB and MGC and I think Minis and perhaps Sprites, too. I checked Burlen's site and apparently the cam changed somewhere in production because now it is a yellow zinc plated piece and it seems to mount differently. So now I will continue my search with the other Forums.

The 1 1/2" twin HS4 (up to and including 1971) and the twin HIF4 (1972 through 1974) fitted to MGBs used a cable actuated lever type link. With the advent of the single CD175 fitted to the 1975 and through the end of production for North American cars, a part like that was used for the cable. The HIF44 is an SU replacement for the CD175 (44 mm ~1.73") for use on those same MGBs. I'm not so sure that you could even get the CD175 versions used on the MGB even from Burlen these days. There may be something out there that I'm just not recalling, but I don't recall seeing cable drums on other BMC or Triumph cars as stock equipment.
