do car bags really work?

I have a spitfire I store in an unheated garage that is not going to be able to be sealed up, heated, etc. without considerable cost/effort on the California Coast. I only come to work on it/take it out every few months. It is starting to show some rust here and there. I am wanting a relatively inexpensive (hundreds rather than thousands) solution. I am thinking about a car bag. I have seen the ones with dessicant like https://www.carbag.com/support/jacket_technology.html, others with VCI like https://www.classiccarcocoon.com/index.phtml. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Bruce I dont know from car bags, however I think you already have a problem. If you are starting to see some rust a car bag is not going to help. If the rust is there it is going to keep on eating away at the car. You really will have to treat the problem. My experience is that there is no such thing as a little rust. What your seeing is just the tip of the ice berg, so to speak.
Anyhow good luck with the car, Tinkerman

Well, it is better to stop the dynamic and deal with the rust. Where I am getting rust is where there is paint damage, and I am working onthat. What I want to know is if any of you has used any of these solutions?
