Red Romper here....I have discovered, in my precious Triumph treasure chest of spare parts, a distributor that is not for my '67 TR4A. It is a Lucas 23D4. Someone must know what application this dizzy is used. I suspect it is a very early LBC. Anyone know?

It fits the Ford Kent engine, BMC 'A' series, as found on Mini Cooper and Austin Healey Sprite/MG Midget, 1275cc.

It should have a five-digit part number on it; can you find that number and possibly the date code as well? That might pin down where it came from originally.

Red Romper here.....The numbers on this distributor are as follows: 23D4,
40819 K, 03 74. Can any of you Lads use this dizzy?

From a quick Google search, it appears that the 40819 distributor was used on various 1275cc "A" series BMC engines such as later A-H Sprite, MG Midget and Mini Cooper models. Hope that helps!
