I have a 1962 TR3B that I am going to put the Pertronix ignition on. The model nuber shown on the Lucas dist. is DM2. I was checking an application chart for the Pertonix and it stated that the dist. on my car is for a TR2 and Listed the Lucas 23,24,25d for my car. Do I have the wrong dizzy in my car?

I doubt you have the wrong distributor. After writing my initial response... I went and looked at the database I have. The DM2 was largely out of use by 1955 but several Triumphs and BMC cars continued to use it up until about 1962. I found listings for TR3s using DM2s with the following ID codes: 40480A & 40698A. Late TR3s (and early TR4s) may also have used 40734A.

If you're trying to figure out which Pertonix kit you need, post an enquiry in the Spridget and MG forums here. BMC used the DM2 in the Spridgets up until '62. So did some of the MGAs. They can tell you which Pertonix kit you need (Pertronix kits are distributor specific, not car/engine specific).
