Distributor

I don't see many after market distributors for the TR6, so either rebuild the '69 unit or get a used unit from a '74 through '76. Convert the innards to the Pertronics (no points) and that should be as good as you will need on the street. Note that the bushing in the distributor shaft is prone to wear and the bushing is a little pricey. As far as the wear goes, I think the bushing wears out because it is not lubed regularly. If the redo of the TR6 distributor is not satisfactory, good luck finding an aftermarket HP distributor.

Ed,

I have a correct rebuilt Lucas distributor for your car, its part number 41306B, with both an advance and retard unit. It fits TR-250 and 69 thru early 71 TR-6. I'm selling it on Ebay but no bids yet. Email me if interested. Everything on it is new or rebuilt. It has the original points setup, but you could change it to Petronix or Crane electronic ignition if you so desired.
