Distributor Removal....Precautions?

Got the TC block ready for paint, but want to remove the distributor to clean it up aswell....Don't want to lose the timing as it ran great before we stripped it down. What precautions should I take to ensure I don't lose the timing? Also I only see one lockbolt holding it in place, is that all there is?

Thanks

One Lock bolt must be correct if that is all you see. If the engine is not rotated you will not loose the timing.Just mark the Dizzy and the block to establish the physical location of the housing before removal. Minor adjustment will be required after start up---Fwiw---Keoke

Thanks....Thats what I thought...Just wanted to make sure /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
