Distributor: Reassembling BJ8 Engine

I am currently rebuilding the restored engine for my BJ8 (engine no. 29K / RU / H12115). I have a question here about the attachment of the distributor (type 25D6) to the engine. An adapter coupling plate is specified in the various spare parts lists (number 12 in the attached picture). This plate and the circlip (No 13) are missing.

Could it be that this plate is not required to install the distributor on the later BJ8 models?

no it's my engine, I dismantled and assembled it myself.

Gerd,

Moss shows those parts for the BJ8 (#130). That plate is necessary to engage the drive dog on the bottom of your distributor. The circlip you should be able to buy by dimension.

You might be able to get it used from one of the suppliers. Here in the US, British Car Specialists in Stockton, California have many used parts. Not sure about the UK suppliers. You might try Distributor Doctor in UK as they handle all the different Lucas distributors and have many spares.

Thank you Steve for your reply, but the problem resolved itself. I removed the distributer driving gear again and found that the coupling unit was already mounted on the driving gear and secured with the circlip.
Ashes on my head.
