Distributor Pedestal Tach Drive

Engine rebuild is progressing, albeit very slowly. painted water pump, thermostat housing, oil filter housing, and exhaust manifold today. Hard to believe there are that many moving parts in an engine. Every part needs to be degreased and most need a trip to the wire wheel too.

So - is there any trick to disassembly and reassembly of the distributor pedestal/tach drive? I can't find any details in the Bentley manual and I wanted to take this apart, clean it, and paint the pedestal. Does the tach drive require some sort of adjustment after disassembly?

Very sanitary, looks good!

No particular tricks to disassembly that I can think of.

The book talks about setting the clearance for the cam gear, by inserting shims below the housing, but it's usually not necessary unless the bushing in the block (that carries the oil pump shaft) has been replaced.
