Hey all,
Just doing some routine maintenance and question on the
brass knob dizzy lubricator on the side of the dizzy.
I have a 58 BN6 but it is a 6 port head version. Per
the manuals, supposed to turn this knob clockwise to lubricate the dizzy shaft.
I took mine off to inspect and
all that was in there was the remains of what might have been
grease soaked cork but now just about oily varnish. Anyone
know if this interior material can be replaced or should I
just put some lube grease in there ? engine was completely rebuilt
but obviously no one took this knob off.
Thanks,
Mike

Clean everything up good, make a new cork from gasket material. Refill the cap with grease and reinstall.--Keoke

Hey Keoke and Johnea,
Thanks for the advice and info. I looked everywhere for what was actually
in the knob and could not find it. I cut up a piece of cork, put some
grease around it, and screwed it back on. Has to be better than what
was in there but will get hold of some heavy felt and put that in instead
since that's what the manual says.
Thanks,
Mike
