Just got my distributor back from Jeff at Advance. Now I don't want to reinstall back on the car since it looks too good. Think I'll just put it on the coffee table for all to admire.
Color me

You'll be even happier when you start your car and drive it.

Thanks Paul. I have been waiting for the distributor to return as I want to get it in and timed prior to starting my suspension rebuild. Hopefully, that will be the end of it (for now anyway!) and I can finally get it on the road.

I'm glad to hear that you are happy. I'm planning to send one to him this week.

Doug, I haven't installed it yet, but there was a mile of play in the shaft which is now gone! Also, my rotor was destroying the cap since it was not spinning true. I have no doubt as Paul says it will make a big difference once I get it in. Also, Jeff is a pleasant guy to work with.

Here's my Jeff story......back in '06 I needed my carbs to be rebuilt. I asked the Triumph Mail List who does the best work and they all replied Joe Curto as the best in the business...one guy contacted me off list about this guy on eBay (Jeff) who does what looks like great work. I emailed both Curto and Jeff asking what's included in a rebuild of the carbs. Curto's response was.....I do whatever needs to be done. No explanation..... nothing but that. Jeff wrote back and said to call him so he could explain what he does and how he does it. The phone call lasted almost an hour.....I've recommended Jeff ever since. :winner1:

That is good to know, since I assumed Jeff only did distributors. Thanks for the additional info.

Spoke to Jeff today. Says he is swamped with business. Wonder why?

DUH........how dumb am I.......I'm reading your first post about Jeff and work of art and had a 61 year old brain fart..... I'm thinking Jeff Payla who does carbs that end up looking like a work of art and you're talking about the Jeff at Advance Distributor..... Same first name, same high quality work, different components and different guys..........I will now slink slowly to the corner and take a 24 hr time out. :wall:

Bob,

I was just typing my "are you sure..." comment when I saw your reply. Don't feel bad, I've done that on several occasions because as you said, they both do great work.

No worries Bob it happens to me all the time.... glad I'm not alone. Just don't tell me you hide your own Easter Eggs :jester:

What is the contact information on Jeff Payla?

Thanks

Too many yellow TR's coming and going

Thanks again. The information I find on this forum is amazing. Somebody should compose a book on all the information. A best seller for sure. Is there away to access all this information, like an archives section?

It's all here. There is a search function. It can be a little tough to use, but you get used to it. Does anyone else remember 25 years ago, when if you needed this information you couldn't just "click a mouse" and get it? The days when we were each up our own little creek without a paddle? The good old days?

Only too well, my friend, only too well.....
