Dish network Internet is slower than the old dial up I had over 20 years ago. It's the worst service I've ever had, bar none! It's so slow pages refuse to display at times saying, this page can not be displayed because of the delay time. After a wait, sometimes the page will load. What ever you do, DON'T BUY IT! Over 400 bucks to cancel it within 24 months! We don't have cable out here in the sticks, so I might just double up and get the phone system back. I have wireless through out the house and dishes router is super slow. They tell me I have the fastest one, I'd hate to see what the slower one acts like. Just giving a heads up to anyone interested. Paul - can't you get DSL (phone internet) or Cable TV internet in your neck o' the woods?

Basil, Hughes Net is only in the cable areas.

Tom, No cable and moderate speed phone Internet.

Yes were 50 years behind time here in the North East part of Oklahoma. To get cable down our road, they need a certain amount of people to sign up for it and that's where the difficulty comes in. A lot of poor folks here and are just making it day to day, so their not committing to anything. There are some of us here that are somewhat better off, but I don't think there's enough of us on our road to fill the bill. We'll see. PJ

We've had Hughes.net for years because cable isn't available here. It's poor compared with cable but a lot better than you describe. We can get a very low speed DSL but Hughes is quite a bit faster. Hughes has some decent speeds available but only if you can see one of their newer satellites, which we can't. I've gradually been cutting our taller trees to get the low dish angle we need so maybe there's hope. In the meantime we use their older "bird".

But it's been tolerable and lots better than dialup. The monthly data volume limit is more of a problem for us than speed.
