Discussing events in individual Forums

I'm a bit tweaked guys.

In an effort to promote an upcoming event that caters to all British Cars, bikes and vehicles, I posted individual messages on each of the Marque Forums.

This was not spam. It was an attempt to get the individual marque forums to discuss all British Vehicle events, including the feature that this year, this event will feature British Vintage Race Cars, very appropriate in my mind for the Racing forum.

Odd, one or two actually had some discussion, but the remaining ones were deleted by the moderators. This event always has a long standing challenge to see what marque gets more cars - usually a Triumph-MG grudge competition on numbers.

So is it taboo to open discussions regarding events on the individual Forums unless they specifically address an event that caters singly to that marque??

If so, then ALL discussion of events should ALWAYS be relegated to events Forums and there should never be discussion of events in the individual Forums.

Am I really off base here??
