I bought a hardtop and front bumper from Jim Gruber and Jo and I decided to drive down to Tampa and pick it up. Much to our surprise some other forum members were in the area and Jim arranged dinner at Columbia in Ybor City. From right to left are Skip and Rosemarie, JP and Tori, Jim and Kate, and Rut and Jo. What a wonderful evening of conversation, food and drink! Jim, thank you so much for putting this together!

Great place for dinner and nice people to enjoy it with.
I went to college in Tampa and the Columbia is one of my favorite places.
You can’t go wrong... good people, good food.

Question: How did Skip get into the Columbia?...... They have a "No shoes, No service policy"

For those who still don't get it from the MGB Forum and several other forums Dr. Entropy. It was a great night of laughs as the galls across the table took their turns bashing on hte guys who spent most of the night trading lies about their cars. Great food, fun time, need to do it again. We've had so much company the last 2 weeks with friends from Dayton and PA we are absolutely worn out but I wouldn't have missed a minute of this opportunity. So for those of yu getting out of the Frozen North towards the end of February we'll try and do it again next year.

Durn-near went in flip-flops but knew that place is cold year 'round.

I'm dense. There's a Skip on BCF? Who is Skip?????

Not that I like bein' outted, but there it is. Best keep referring to me as Doc. Consistency, y'see. Forgot to request Rut use the pseudonym... :eeek:

As a strange coincidence I found out today that First Wife and husband were there at the same time! Somehow we missed them, they went into the Flamenco Room. Otherwise we'd have had another couple in the mix. They were down from Allentown, Elliot.

as the frozen north representative, a great time was indeed had by all - and great to meet some more BCFers. The great regret of a a hobby group located in North America is the distances, so, meeting in person friends you previously only have online is pretty special.

Yup, JP. Geography's a B**ch!

And it indeed is special.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun.If any of you get up this way,
let's get together.

Why didn't you email me? We would have driven up from Venice. 82 miles. Love the Columbia. The oldest continually run restaurant om the US.

Hopefully there will be a next time - so, absolutely! And, Doug not this round - we REALLY have to hasten back but will connect as we pass hopefully on the next trip.
