Hello,

I would like to install two SLR 700 spotlights on my BN 7
Is there maybe some one around who has the dimensions/pattern
so I can have them made preferably in stainless stell

Harry

Hi Harry

Don't want to leave you hanging with no response, but I'm not quite sure what you are looking to do - do you already have SLR 700s perhaps with a stem mount? Are you planning to mount them directly to your splash shield behind the bumper, or are you looking to make brackets that will then mount to your splash shield? I have the smaller SLR 576 spots mounted on a chrome badge bar that has brackets already welded in to accept these lights, and this badge bar then bolts in behind the bumper guards. I don't know whether the SLR 700s have the same dimension stem as the SLR 576s (5/8 inch), but if they do, that would be my preferred method of installation. A badge bar will run you about $75-80.

This may prompt someone else to respond with other suggestions.

I wouldn't think the splash shield would be the best place to install the lights. Since it isn't bolted to the body (only the bumper) I'd guess the light beam would be dancing all over the road while driving. Probably annoy the tar outta oncoming traffic.

Actually I think you're probably right Greg - the splash shield is a problem, altho I've seen it done first hand, by the previous owner of my BT7, and I had to weld in some patches. In fact, even the bar that I installed on the BT7 buzzes around a bit. Not quite sure what the cure for that is...

I'm now looking at the black 100-4 in the "Random Gallery Posts". How are his spots/fogs attached? They're quite low and I don't see a badge bar - special brackets?

Just a thought, but maybe a bar could be fabricated like the below drawing.

What I have seen done is a simple set of right angle brackets that attach, with bolted clamp fittings, to each bumper iron. Each one fits flush with the under under side of the splash pan. Matching holes are then punched in the splash pan for mounting the lamps. These shouldn't be too difficult to make.--Keoke

David--

The splash on 100's is attached to the front shroud and makes a stable platform. I have 576's that are mounted in this manner.

Hi Michael, he wants to put SLR700's on a BN7---Keoke

Well guys these are all great suggestions, and thanks for your input. Unfortunately we haven't heard from Harry (Hama 61). I'm still not sure what he was getting at in his post, but at least now he has something to chew on...

Hello Guys

Thanks for the replies so far. Up to know I have found one NOS SLR 700 s lamp (with stem) which is on its way. I have noticed that there is a hole drilled in the front part of the frame rails.

The car is and will stay bumperless like to be seen on racers and rallycars

Harry

:savewave:

OH if you intend on going bumper less you might consider a set of Fog Rangers which may be easier to find.--Regards--Keoke

Hello John,
