Different Starters???

Anyone put the a Push button start, the old Pull Start or the little switch on the floor thingy (like the headlight brights switch on old Cars)in there MG as the starter switch?

You can fit any type of switch you like. An actual cable pull starter won't do anything, but you can use an electronic switch behind the pull.

One has to ask the obvious though... why?

one of friends was hinting at the idea after test driving a Honda S2000...and not a pull start like on a lawn mower, one kinda like a spring loaded choke so when you pull the "starter" all you are doing is connecting the solenoid. the old ferraris had them if im not mistaken

Pull starters were used on most MGs up to 1962. The pull itself isn't spring loaded, the starter switch in the engine bay is. The pull handle is basically the same as a choke cable, only without the "twist to lock" feature. You would have to construct some sort of spring contraption connected to an electric switch leading to the starter.

I think a push button would be far easier to rig up.
