Different Cross Members

I thought I read somewhere the the earlier MGB's had a different cross member. There was a hook welded to the front for towing. Later cars had the hook attached under the bumper. Is this true and if so does anyone have a pic of a '67?

Early cars do have an eye wended to the front of the cross member. It was deleted from later Mark Is.

I can send you a photo of a '67 cross member but it won't look any different than the early ones, except for no eye welded on.

& I've got several in a stack of cross members.

Does anyone know about what Vin # they were deleted?

No worry on the pic. I wanted to compare to the one I have which I might send out to have powdercoated. It's going to be for one of my 67's.

The eyelets on the later cars were not for towing. They are on the front and the rear and were there as something to tie to when the cars were on the tractor trailer carriers.
