Sunday it took me FOUR HOURS of absolutely hateful struggle to replace the port-side engine mount on her. The thing had collapsed and while it was running the whole car rattled as if it was tearing itself apart. Nasty. Had to do all on my back on the (wet) ground, no lift. At the end of the struggle I looked as if I'd been dipped into a bucket of lamp black. Took nearly as long to scrub self and tools clean! Now the dam brake warning light is coming on... and the starboard side mount is here in a box. My weekend seems planned. :madder:

We've all been there doc. A nasty job just seems to linger. Just think that the starboard side will be easier since you have already done one.
Deep breaths and cold CAB's :thirsty:

Motor mounts? did someone say *old* Mercedes-Benz motor mounts? I can sell you these very very cheap.

Notice the exquisite M-B patina. Recently removed from a well-known 1960 M-B 190b.

Always go for the "tried and true" - experience pays off in the end!

Still, it's satisfying to know it's done.

Look on the bright side, you're not doing this in a snowy, cold Dakota January...

Much too true. And bro Mick puts perspective to it. :smirk:
