/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I just picked up this little gem on ebay and would like to know wether or not they were imported to the US? https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7990672838 I know this poor little car is pretty hacked up, but I thought it would be a cool start for a streetrod project... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Interesting car...

Someone has either done a whole lot of bodywork...

Anyway, there are plenty of Austin parts here in Canada, the Austin saloon cars were sold in greater volume here. If you even wanted to restore it to stock look, it would probably be possible. You might want to contact a fellow in Ontario - Joe Lightfoot - who has a huge collection of Austin's, I'll pass along information offline.

According to one book I have they were imported from 1955 through 1963. It was sometimes referred to as a "Cambrian" here. About 1700 Austins were imported into the US in 1958, with the A55 Cambridge being one of three models sold. I don't remember ever seeing one, though.

Hey, if that car really is in Monroe, NC, then it isn't more than 30-45 minutes or so away from here!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gifThanx guys. The car was in NC, but it's now in my garage in CO. Thanx for the offer. The car does have alot of body work done to it. It's a bit of mess, but should make for a fun intresting project.
