I did a dumb thing, a thing I have done a dozen times before. I picked up a striped block and set it in the back of the truck last week. Pulled a muscle in my back, hurt hurt. I still have not done a thing to the little car this week, heck I can't stand, sit, laydown or.......much of anything.

Planning for the future is what I am doing. Guess that's important also.

Jeeze! Why'd you do a thing like that!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm only 22, and I know enough not to try to lift an engine block if I can help it! I use the cherry picker whenever possible. Hope you're back in order shortly!

Well sometimes you forget your not a kid anymore. Heck was a time I use to benchpress 180 lbs. Think I will hold it down to about 30 lbs now. That should be enough.

I use to pull the engines from bugeys with my daughter on the other end of a 2x4. Seems those days are gone forever.

Note to self: Days gone forever.

You sound like my Dad jlaird. He tells me the same sentiments in different wording. Hope ya get better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Buddy, we hope you find yourself back in top condition in short order. I know how a back injury can put you on life's sideline for a while. We wish you a speedy recovery. Just remember, that bugeye has been waiting for a long time and a couple more days won't affect its life in the long run. Make sure that you are back to a 100% before you start crawling all over it again.

Jack - Yep, realizing the same thing myself, I am. Had to get help to lift an MGB block the other day....going on 60 is great in many ways - sucks in others!

Jack,

Hope you get better.

I am sure Miss Agatha can wait for you to make a full recovery.

It also makes for a good time to get your parts orders in line.

Yeah, Jack - like he said....hehehehe

Oh, I got the parts sorted out, all on excel spread sheets. Now just need to find the bucks. Grand total something like $3500 + to do it right, and I am going to do it right. Think I will ease into this, hehe.
Tony is going to get tired of me.

Ouch on the back thing... When I was rebuilding a 1946 Jeep several years back, 3 of us had put the transmission/transfer case on top of an old washing machine. When I was putting it back together, I started thinking I could carry it myself... I went over to it, and started testing different areas to find the right way to hold it... Then it suddenly slid off the old washing machine and I was holding it. I said oh, well, got it now. I struggled and carried it over to the frame, set it on the frame. Then blacked out for a minute. Took more strength then I realized (or probably barely had) to carry that chunk.

Yikes, good thing you didn't pop your head on that frame or on the garage floor.

oooo... dangerous little tool/app... I think I'm gonna have fun messin' around with this... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was sitting on the frame rail, and didn't go completely unconcious, but did loose sight and hearing for a minute or so. Freaky feeling. In 33 years, I've never completely passed out, but I've had the above happen to me about 4 times. Makes ya feel really sick, and weak for about an hour afterwards.

Jack - that's Moss prices...mine will be quite a bit lower...send me the spread sheet & let me price them for you...then you can continue adding back up to your limit

Jack - did you get my email?

Yes Tony, and answered.

Son and granddaughter over for dinner this evening and we watched a DVD as well. Sorry.

Hey, grandkids are more imprtant...daughter was at doctor today - all is well...she's gained a total of 17 lbs...30 May is getting closer!

Well for sure I don't want to spend more than necessary but I don't have a limit for this project. What ever it takes however long it takes to do it right.
