Did Favre Just Ruin His Legacy?

I say he just became an also-ran!

Meh, I could care less, but tonight is going to be the PA Interstate classic.

The Iggles are coming in to Pittsburgh to get their feathers plucked!

I think Favre is doing the one thing he knows how to do, he's playin' ball. He's a jock, pure and simple. No more, no less.

Just think, ever since he was a kid, that's all he's done, throw a football. And, he's pretty darn good at it too.

Puttin' myself in his shoes, I'd do the same thing if the body was willin'.

Good luck, Bret, stay safe!

Guy name of Jordan popped in and out of retirement several times, as I recall.

He made out OK.

I for one couldn't give a R**'s *ss about Favre. All of these professional athletes are just a bunch a prima donas. Especially the NFL, which is only about money!

Now, how's that for stirring up the nest?

No argument from me, Frank!

This move to the Jets, in and of itself, affects his "legacy" not one wit. The issue is how well he performs. If he does well and gets out when he is still good, no problem. However, will he (or is he) attempting to hold on too long? He had a good year last year, he's got some time left, but how much?

Only time will tell.

He retired when the cold weather games were fresh in his mind. He simply was no longer able to play in that weather. It is the old age thing. It is my opinion that he has been acting like a spoiled kid for years and his games finally caught up with him.
The Packers simply got tired of his distractions and I fully agree with their decision no matter what the outcome.

Cut the man a little slack. He wants to play ball. Imagine if we were told we couldn't do what we loved doing anymore because we were too old or whatever. If he wants to play ball, let him.

On another note, did you know the quaterbacks for both New York teams will be from Mississippi? Yea, rednecks are takeun over. American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.

Pay me $20 million to never work on another MG & watch me relax on the beach!

...as well as sport-hopping. (basketball to baseball to basketball)

Tony, $20 mil.to never work on OR DRIVE another MG, EVER??

I am not now, never was, and never will be a Pro Athlete, so I can not understand the drive to play.

I think though the thing that went sour was the "I want to play, I don't want to play, I want to play, I don't want to play" back and forth piece. The team made decisions based on his retirement and business choices about their future. That train HAD to leave the station. It is business when you come down to it. I don't think anyone will deny he is a great player, but the NFL universe doesn't revolve around one player.

Peter, somebody pays me $20-million to never work on or drive another MG & you can come take your pick as they all go out of the garage! But, you'd have to be quick!

:iagree:

I don't drive MG's now. But I would give up driving and working on Triumphs for 20 Million. Though I might move on to Aston Martin's. :yesnod:

The Favre story has been run into the ground. I really don't get the hype over a 38 yo player that will probably fail miserably with the Jets.

Either way, <span style="color: #3333FF"><span style="font-weight: bold">GO COWBOYS!!</span></span>
