There is a Devin on eBay just now.
I'm not really sure how much of it is still TR, other than the basis of the chassis. Maybe it is actually an LB,G,J+USAC! Nice looking car, though.
Does anyone know more about Devins?

There's a good bit about Bill Devin and his cars here. This car is all very nice, but I can't quite understand how one could've sunk $75,000 into restoration of a fiberglass "kit car" body and the bits that it sits on!?

And yeah, seems that the only remaining "Triumph" is some portion of the main chassis and a number.

Well, I can, for sure, comprehend how
easy it would be to sink $75,000. into getting a Triumph

There is a red on in our area that always gathers a crowd at the shows. I really don't know much about them other than they look really good.

Cool....
E-Type front...
Big Healey back...
and a Triumph underneath...
Want one!

Here is one with a v-8. Was in a show we were in a week or so ago.

Nice!!! Looks like an Avanti next to it.

Edit: and some guy with knobby knees...that isn't you is it!

That's an original Stupidbaker Avanti isn't it?? Didn't the later ones have square nacells around the headlights?? Is that one supercharged?? Hard to see in there.

I have seen a Devin vintage racing. It has (I think) a TR3 chassis and a Chevy V8. Great looking car!

~HERE~ is more on Devins.

What *is* it about Avantis? I love the way they look! I don't think they're all that great in terms of absolute performance, but in the looks department, they are The Bee's Knees.

I have the same handbrake on my MG.

Paul,
Requirement of the host was for all attendees to block a wheel because of the grade on the paddock. You would have loved the original '57 fuel injected Pontiac.

It certainly is original and has the supercharger. It was in beautiful condition.

There were some amazing cars there and spectators were telling that the parking lot was nearly as interesting as the show itself.

The Avanti's were amazing for their styling and the performance they got from the small v-8's they had. It was more about top speed than acceleration. I do not recall the top rated speed but a friend had one, back in the day, and it was a fun car to ride in. But then Studebaker always seemed ahead of the times and peoples ability to be a little different (really cool).

In 1965-8 I worked for a small company of about 20 employees and in the parking lot was a Avanti, Shelby 500, my TR4 and later my GT6, a Gull Wing, and a few other interesting cars.

I loved the old Studes. I'd love to have one of the 53 Starliner coupes right now. Chevy V-8's fell right into those and with today available brake & suspension upgrades, you could have one fun car.

My uncle had a fuelie 57 Poncho. He used to race the other uncle with the 57 Plymouth with the 2X4bbls (Christine car, but blue and white).

Growing up in the 50's & 60's was fun.

Back to the topic (as I smoothly avoid the age discussion) I think that the Devlin looks just great. I will be amazed if he gets over $20,000 in offers. I hope for his sake that he does, but I'd still be amazed.
