Detriment of using 948cc master cylinder on 1098cc

The master cylinder in my car has leakby. About once every 10 times you push down on the pedal, it goes mushy and travels nearly to the floor. The brake fluid is just spitting back up into the reservoir due to faulty seals.

I bought a rebuild kit and plan on doing it in the near future BUT in the event that my cylinder turns out to be rusted beyond recognition, what are my options for replacement?

I keep seeing reasonably priced 948cc (7/8" bore) versions online, but never the 1098cc version I have.

Can you use the bigger bore MC on the disk brake cars, or does it cause problems?
 
I'd have your original resleeved. The larger bore will not work as well because of the residual pressure setup for the front drum brakes.
 
I just had my 7/8" MC resleeved for the 3/4" pistons for a disc conversion. I'd vote as well for having your original resleeved and rebuilt.
