Desperate to drive -- need a talking to.

My car is so close to being together. Waiting for a
rheostat coming from RF. Thinking of installing the
dash so I can drive this weekend. This would mean having
to drop it back later when the part comes in.

Good sense says to wait for the part and save doing this
twice; but weather man says 80+ degrees in my part of
California this weekend. I'm antsy to drive. Need a driving fix. Got it bad. Need windshield installed. Could happen.

Been told putting jumper wires on rheostat can correct
my problem. Reluctant to mess with wiring cause so close
to original part/install repair.

Will somebody talk some sense into me one way or
another?

Go rent a sports car, get it out of your system, and be patient! Why cob up a great job at this point?

Tape the dangly bits, assemble it and DRIVE! You'll be twice as fast doing the job the second time anyway... "practice, practice, practice!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

and if it ain't 'exactly' right this time, you'll know where to adjust it to make it so next time! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I'll let 'ya know after this weekend if I give in to
temptation.

I can hear the rumble nowwwww......

You guys are bad!

We're only talking about a dash board here. It's not like we're tellin' 2wrench to slap that wheel on with only 1 lug nut and go for a spin! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Go for it!!
