Denver Trip

Just got back tonight.
I didn't see any British cars until I got to
Fort Collins,Colorado,where I had a nice visit
with Shawn (swift6).Nice collection of cars!
After that, continued to Denver area, dropped off
the VW pickup, then headed back to CA.
I went through Wyoming on the way there (NO scenery,-
but 75MPH speed limit (but not in the Suburban!).Returned
through Colorado (recommended).
I didn't see any LBC's until Green River (almost out
of Colorado),where I saw a Red Bugeye on a transport truck.
From there,I went to the Salt Lake City area, where I got to visit with drooartz (nice Bugeye!).Enjoyed it.
Left SLC Saturday morning. While driving through Elko,
Nevada, saw a Blue '63 Cortina. The owner told me about it,& I found out that we both know some of the same people.
After that, continued to Carlin,Nevada, where I got off of the Interstate,& noticed a Yellow Midget (Yellow -'79,or '80).Asked the owner's Wife if they wanted me to haul it off- it had been sitting for awhile. She sounded like she'd give it away, but couldn't get ahold of her Husband (I had an empty trailer).
She also told me of a '71 or '72 up a few blocks that had been sitting for some time. The owner wasen't home.
Anybody interested in these?I can give you directions.
This afternoon, just out of Redding,CA.,I saw a Ford Anglia
outside of a resturant.
While looking at it,I realised who it probably belonged to.I was right.Had a nice visit with the owner.
Also in that area was a nicely restored '62 Sprite.
About 2 hors away from home, the highway was closed due
to a forest fire.Took me an extra hour to go the "scenic" route!
Anyway, after supporting the oil companies,I'm home.

Nevada,

Good trip, nice report. Enjoyed.

You saw more Bugeyes on your trip than I have seen in 20 years or so.

Glad to hear you made it home safe, Doug. Nice visiting with you while you were passing through.

Driving across the country with an empty trailer is probably a good way to score LBC projects, isn't it. "I can haul it away right now, ma'am." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank You!
Also saw a Bugeye at a body shop in Elko,Nevada.
Noone around - assumed it was a customer's car.
I might have to check up on that.
