Wedge delco cs130 alternator for TR7's

I just finished replacing my lucas 25acr alternator with a delco cs130 (105 amp) alternator. I found one from a '94 camaro with a 3.4 liter v-6 was clocked correctly, purchased a pigtail to adapt into my stock wiring harness (idiot lamp). Of course it has only worked for an hour or so.... Why do I need 105 amps you ask??? I run my ham radio in my TR7 plus I am hoping that delco alternators are more durable than lucas.
 
The early CS-130 alternators had several problems, most notably undersized bearings, both front and rear. There also were problems with the rectifier heat sinks and low capacity diodes. But, don't despair, by '94 these problems were a thing of the past. Of course, the unit might have been replaced, and all bets are off as to which one got put into that Camaro. You can tell the later style by looking at the bearing at the back of the alternator. If there is a black plastic tolerance ring around the bearing, you will have the late style. What started out being an unreliable alternator, turned into a real workhorse and should gives you years of service.

If I understand you correctly, you only modified the wiring to the ignition warning lamp?
You will also need to increase the size of the main power cable, probably about twice the existing CSA for 105 amps and then add another fuse box for your radio. Just how much power does that radio need?

i had already increased battery cable size and am using a spare fuse in the fuse block (no AC) to an inline fuse. I think that I only need about 12 or 15 amps for the radio, but I was having trouble with my lucas alternator regulator and this one was much cheaper. the wiring modification I made was to wire the alternator pigtail to the existing wire for the warning lamp. just changing the connection really.
