My sisters birthday is coming up and one of the things I just bought her is a t-shirt with a Boxer (dog) face on it. (She shows Boxers). When I went to check out, they gave me 2 options for shipping. USPS for $7 or DHL for $89. Gee, let me think, $7 or $89 to ship a $25 T-shirt?

$7 vs $89... it’s a dog-eat-dog in the shipping business.

A few years back, shortly after opening a new facility in our area, DHL announced it was closing the facility as it was leaving the US. Decisions like that might explain their higher costs per package.

Quite possibly though I make it a point to always check options- often they just don’t make sense. Most recently sending off taxes - about a dollar more to send it priority overnight than registered regular mail.

“There’s no reason for it, it’s just our policy.” ;)
