dead pedal for '74 midget?

Anyone come across an aftermarket dead pedal (rest clutch foot on) that would fit on a '74 mg midget?
I noticed that there is only 4" clearance between the footwell and the clutch pedal, so the dead pedal would need to be much less and avoid hitting your foot when pressing the clutch.

OK, I just looked (I was noodling with the throttle cable) and it looks more like a piece of 2X6. It's been there at least 10 years. I use it a lot for bracing during cornering.

Definitely seen some wear and tear judging by the wear on right corner. I like the solution.
