Datsun A14 install ?

Ok so I know many of you, or at least a few, have installed the Datsun Pushrod motor that was based on our BMC A-series in their cars.

So what is the real "skinny" on how difficult this is to do? I am still leaning towards building this 1275 into a strong 1380 street engine but I'd like to know more before I order $2500 worth of parts...for the 1275.

Again, thanks in advance guys. Anyone have pictures?

I could show you pictures of mine in the car - any specific things you would like to see - like the motor mounts or the front cross member? I didn't do the job, it was in there when I bought it. Mine's an A15 not an A14. The Datsun1200 forums are a good place to visit with info about the engines, intake / exhaust etc. For instance, it's better to get a head that has the oval ports rather than the round and there are dual intakes available and SU carbs as well as other side draft choices.

Jay,

My car is not yet together, so if you'd like to come over and take a look, LMK. The engine is back in, but you can still see most of everything that was done. My install was accomplished with only one cut of the frame rail that the steering rack bolts to and it was reinforced afterwards (needed the cut to clear the crank pulley).

It is a pretty clean install and may be a viable option for you. Just to muck things up even further.....I may have found another Suzuki Swift GT. Maybe that G13B swap is in order!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
