Dashpot Oil

How do I know when they are full? I was told that they should be about a half inch from the top.Any info would be appreciated.

That's probably a little high. The easiest way to get a very accurate picture is fill the dashpot, unbolt the aircleaner, then lift the piston with your finger. What's left after the oil shoots out is the exact proper amount.

You know you have the right amount of oil in there when you just begin to feel some resistance when the bottom of the cap threads are about 1/4" above the neck of the carbs.

You are correct. However, to avoid confusion the 1/2 inch you mentioned is referenced to the top of small tube inside the bell that the damper fits into.----Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
