DashCams are becoming popular.
Youtube is full of DashCam captured crashes, and most are ubiquitous in Russia?
Anyone using them in their Healeys or daily drivers?

Here's a dash cam view from my '65 BJ8 running one of my favorite routes here in the PNW.

Dougie

Looks just like you are on highway 74 here in California :encouragement:

Some of the 2015 models record in HD and have some nice features:

1296p HD
HDR
Ambarella A7LA59 chip
OV4689 sensor
GPS (with Google Maps) + G-Sensor + LWDS + FCWS
256GB Memory Capacity
Up to 170 Degree Wide Angle Lens

Dougie,
What is the brand/model?

Good question....That was shot with my old cam that is no long being made. I use GoPros now for all of my vintage racing videos.

Quite a few of the BMW Coupe/Rdstr guys are using them on a daily basis, particularly those doing rush-hour commutes in large urban areas.

Go-Pro Heros seem to be popular and nobody has complained about the suction-cup mounts falling off (just look at all the ones you see on the Velocity Channel car shows).

Gopro's are great, beautiful videos. However they don't record a loop when they get to the end of the sd card. I believe you need to manually turn them on and off?

Maybe I should clarify.

I'm looking into HD dashcams that mount on the windshield.
Usually they're so small they mount behind the rear view mirror.
They can be hardwired or plugged into the cigarette lighter.

They record when you turn the car on, stop when the car is turned off.
They record on a continuous loop when it gets to the end of what ever length mico sd card you install. Purpose is in case you're in an accident.
Some of the top tier models record in HD (better than the gopro's) (see example of specs I provide in previous post here) and you can transfer the video via wi-fi or the sd card to your computer.
So those days when you'd think, that was a great drive, you've got it recorded.
