After realizing that I was being lazy in not doing an internet search before I asked the question, I did so and found these:

https://www.7ent.com/products/seat-upholstery-clip-bag-of-20-c707.html

They compare favorably with the ones shown in the above-reference thread of John's, but how do they look to those of you who haven them or have used them?

They look much like ones I used, but it’s been a few years since I did the dash. You can’t really see them when they are installed so should work fine if thickness of opening is right. Cheers, Mike

I guess one needs four? Used on the compound curve under the center gauge panel? I don’t know it more were used or not.

My first job I used several. By the TR2 I learned to work the material better, so I think 4 did it. I'll take a look to see what I have...

Bresco.com handles the clips. Actually a lot of vintage clips. The ones shown are in a qty of 35 for €7.49 + mail.

Thanks, Larry, that’s a great resource and pricing is good. I’ll measure the thickness and order some.

John, thanks for the offer, but hang on to the ones you have. If you can easily measure the the opening, so I can order the right ones, that would help!

I think 1/16-3/32” would be about right for vinyl. With leather that thickness gets spread a bit wide, so 1/8” would probably be better, but the small opening works.

Thanks, John.

I took a digital caliper to my dash edge, which is covered in vinyl and got 3.6mm, so 1/8th is probably right. It will be recovered in Skinner's vinyl. Bresco.com has them for 1.2-3.4mm thickness and 3.6mm thickness. Maybe I'll try the thinner ones.
