Hi all, has anyone purchased a new dash pad from moss? My question is this. I just purchased a new top dash pad plus the two sides (not from moss, but the same distributer) and I bought the "replacement" ones not the original ones. Whats the difference? These are injection molded rubber! not dissatisfied, I think they look great and will last forever, but are the "original" ones actually vinyl?

Originals would be vinyl over a molded foam. Can't quite feature molded rubber -- does it at least look correct?

looks correct, fits great. wondering what the differance in the "original" that they sell and the "replacement" is. other than about 50 bucks more for the "original"

Wow, $189 for original and $129 for replacement (without explanation of the difference). I see that TRF is up there as well (but only list one).

You can tell I'm out of touch with current prices... (or boy were prices cheaper 25 years ago ignoring inflation). :frown:

thats whats killing me scott. No pics, no expanation... I bought the replacment and i'm happy with it, but what does the "original" look and feel like?

The original is quite firm -- has a foam core but it is hard foam. The 'original replacements' (which may all come from the same source) have the correct grain but (to my eye) a slighty more matte finish that the actual originals. Modern vinyls look a lot like leather, 60s vinyl looked more like vinyl. Not a big deal though I did use upholstery 'paint' in gloss black to make my replacements look more like what I removed.
