Dash Knobs will come off

Does that dash knob have you in a fit of rage and you decide to just bust it apart with vise grips. Like most things there is a simple way. You have seen one of those small clamps used to pull the battery cable off the terminal, well it’s like they made this for pulling off Triumph dash knobs. If you want to reuse the knob, put a thin bit of wood between the top of the knob and the center. After tightening it down and pushing in the little button, one jerk on some that had been on for 20 years just popped off. Learn something every day.

Wayne - could you post a picture or reference on that small battery clamp puller?

I've got the reverse problem. Got a replacement (used) lighting switch, and even tho' I pushed in the "button" on the switch stem, the knob doesn't slide all the way on. But of course the knob is stuck halfway!

Thanks.
Tom
PS - great looking 6!

Some of the new knobs actually need a little expansion of the hole to work. I think there is a back issue on this. Check the archives but the search could be big.
