Do I really have to take the big gauges out of the dash to install it when the steering column is in and no wheel?? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Yes you do, but it only takes about 1hr total out and in.

DNK-

I had my dash out and on a stand to pre-wire all the lights
for all the gauges. I think I remember installing the dash
as a single unit, balanced on the bottom edge.

Then I hooked up the sender wires and finally the two large cables to the speedo and tach.

I forgot to connect the tiny oil pipe to the oil pressure gauge. It filled the passenger's floor pan very well.

Dale- Doesn't seem to fit with the voltage thing on the 1 gauge.

You have to take the speedo and tach out to remove or install the dash. The retention clips for the big gauges hold on to the back of the steel dash panel not just the wood insert as the small gauges do.

I was able to intall all gauges into/onto the refinished
wood dash. I, as well, placed the wood dash on its bottom
edge and pushed the wires through the metal dash holes
connecting them to their appropriate connections on the
guages. Seems to be working fine so far.

A slight crank on the engine did deposit oil to the area
before the oil pressure guage was fully hooked up, so
do remember to connect the oil pressue connections
entirely before turning her over.

I took the voltage gizzmo off the large gauge.
It can be installed just about anywhere in the tem
gauge line.

Is this correct?
